Biographical Information

Howard Ande has worked as a full-time freelance photographer since 1994. He has traveled extensively around the U.S. and Canada on specific assignments, and shoots on speculation for the stock photography aspect of his business.

Howard lives with his wife and two children in Bartlett, Illinois. His geographic location in Illinois gives him easy access to one of the largest corn and soybean growing areas in the world.

The city of Chicago is also a frequent subject of his lenses. Many of his Chicago images have appeared in calendars, coffee table books, and promotional materials for the city. Another area of specialty is railroad related photography. Howard’s images are used in all aspects of that industry, including product advertising. Other subject areas that interest Howard are industrial scenes, nostalgic subjects such as vintage neon, Route 66, and classic car details. Nearly any subject that has a strong visual impact is a likely candidate for being photographed by Howard.

Howard's award winning photography has appeared worldwide for a variety of clients ranging from children's book publishers to advertising for Phillip Morris products. Working with the Leo Burnett USA advertising agency, he has produced the photos for dozens of Marlboro tobacco product advertisements since 1998.
